Rogers to Highlight Bipartisan Record of Accomplishment

Looks forward to positive debate Monday in Howell

Congressman Mike Rogers will highlight his record of accomplishment and his commitment to serving the families and communities of the 8th Congressional District at a Monday evening candidate forum hosted by the Livingston Daily Press & Argus and the League of Women Voters.

The candidate forum, the second in which the Congressman has participated this month, is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Howell High School , and will feature candidates for Michigan Senate and House seats as well as Rogers .

“Mike Rogers successfully passed six bills in the House this past year, all of them with bipartisan support despite it being one of the most partisan years in history,” said Stefani Zimmerman , Rogers for Congress campaign manager.

Among the diverse legislation to which Zimmerman refers ranges from Rogers ’ law protecting the dignity of grieving soldiers’ families to Rogers ’ House-passed bill stopping the flow of Canadian trash into Michigan to Rogers ’ House-passed ethanol plan to bring more jobs to Michigan .

“Mike’s commitment to making a difference for the people he serves, and his effectiveness as an advocate for 8th District individuals and communities are the foundation for his strong bipartisan support across the district’s five counties,” concluded Zimmerman.

Zimmerman said the Congressman looks forward to the forum and to more than a hundred events and meetings he will participate in during the next four weeks leading up to the November 7 election.
