Mike's 12 Point Jobs Plan
1. No new taxes or regulations on employers for two years. Give employers the certaintly they need to start hiring Michigan workers again.
2. Protects American employers from cyber attacks from countries like China. Foreign countries are stealing as much as $1 trillion per year in American intellectual property and the jobs that come with it.
3. Repeal the burdensome 1099 paperwork requirement included in President Obama’s health care law that impacted 30 million small businesses. This measure cosponsored by Mike was signed into law.
4. Crack down on foreign currency manipulation from countries like China which destroys U.S. manufacturing jobs.
5. Enact an “all-of-the-above” American energy plan that reduces our dependence on foreign oil, creating at least one million jobs.
6. Update and modernize the U.S. patent system to encourage innovation, job creation and economic growth. Mike supported this measure which was signed into law.
7. Repeal the new tax on medical devices created by President Obama’s health care law, saving as many as 43,000 jobs.
8. Protect the jobs of more than 500,000 U.S. health insurance agents and brokers, most of whom are small business owners, by reforming a burdensome regulation included in President Obama’s health care law.
9. Allow all Americans to receive a waiver from President Obama’s health care law.
10. Eliminate an onerous withholding tax on employers that work with the federal government in order to reduce costs for private sector job creators. This bill supported by Mike was signed into law.
11. U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act. Open a large market to American auto companies and was endorsed by the Big 3 American automakers and the United Auto Workers, protecting over 300,000 jobs. This bill supported by Mike was signed into law.
12. Require Congressional approval of all executive branch rules that impact the U.S. economy before they take effect.
