To vote in Michigan you must first register with your city/town clerk’s
office or one of the 178 Secretary of State offices. You may also do so by mail. If you
move to a new city/township please re-register with your local clerk’s office. Absent
voter ballots are available for all elections. You must register in person at the
clerk’s office until 4 p.m. the day before the election. If mailing your request it
must be received by the Saturday before the election.

For disabled voters please contact
your clerk’s office to make sure your polling site is free of obstruction. If a voter
is blind, he/she may bring a helper or ask the precinct board for assistance. Hearing
impaired voters in need of assistance may contact the Bureau of Elections at: (517)
